The Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Project is being implemented through a collaboration between KNUST and global partners, with support from Yinson Production, the Petroleum Commission of Ghana, and academic partners including New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech) in the United States. The initiative seeks to advance research, strengthen institutional capacity, and develop actionable strategies to support Ghana’s transition toward a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
As members of the advisory board, Worship Joshua Frimpong and Ms. Benedicta Akesse-Annan Esq will provide strategic guidance to the project, drawing on their expertise in climate governance, sustainability policy, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks. Their role will involve supporting oversight of the project’s implementation, contributing to policy dialogue, and ensuring that the initiative aligns with global best practices in climate mitigation and energy transition.
Their appointment reflects the growing recognition of Eco-Africa Network’s contributions to climate policy engagement, youth leadership, and sustainability advocacy across Africa.
Speaking on the appointment, Worship Joshua Frimpong, Founder and Executive Director of Eco-Africa Network, noted that the recognition demonstrates the increasing role of youth-led institutions in shaping climate governance:
“This appointment is not only a recognition of the depth of expertise in Eco-Africa but also a testament to the growing role that young people and youth-led organizations like Eco-Africa are playing in shaping the climate transition conversation in Africa”.
Eco-Africa Network congratulates Worship Joshua Frimpong and Ms. Benedicta Akesse-Annan Esq on this milestone and looks forward to the impact their leadership will bring to the Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Project and Ghana’s broader climate transition agenda.
